Welcome! Today we’ll be testing out the Rode Podmic and Behringer UM2 to see how they sound. The Rode Podmic is a broadcast quality microphone for podcasters. It features a cardioid polar pattern, a -20dB pad, a high-pass filter, and a built-in pop filter. The Behringer UM2 is an audio interface with two inputs and one output. It has a USB connection and allows you to record two tracks at once.
First, we’ll be testing out the Rode Podmic. We’ll be recording a vocal track in a quiet room to see how well the microphone picks up sound. We’ll be listening for clarity, presence, and overall frequency response.
Next, we’ll be testing out the Behringer UM2. We’ll be connecting the Rode Podmic to it and recording a vocal track to see how well the interface handles the signal. We’ll be listening for low noise, dynamic range, and distortion.
